A safe injecting room could soon be set up in Melbourne's east with a controversial bill to be introduced in Victoria's parliament this week.
A new plan will be considered by parliament with Sex Party leader Fiona Patten pushing for an 18-month trial amid support from community leaders and medical experts, the Herald Sun reported.
Ms Patten will this week introduce a bill in the legislative council to introduce the injecting room in North Richmond, which is modelled on a safe injecting room in Sydney's Kings Cross.
