An ice trafficker who didn't know she was pregnant during her Victorian trial has had her sentence reduced after she gave birth in custody.

Chinese national Bing Yao Dong, 25, had her maximum sentence reduced by nine months after the Victorian Court of Appeal found her time in prison would be more burdensome because she is caring for an infant.

Dong's total sentence was reduced to five years, with a non-parole period of three years, for charges of importing a marketable quantity of a controlled drug, dealing in property reasonably suspected of being the proceeds of crime, and trafficking a controlled drug.
