Vic horse accidents injure 13

Two people were seriously injured in accidents involving horses that sent 13 people to Victorian hospitals over the weekend.

The most serious case was a pre-school aged girl who is in a critical condition with head injuries after a horse kicked over a gate, that landed on her in South Gippsland.

Ambulance Victoria said five of Sunday's nine accidents involved children, and they urged people to ensure they have the proper safety equipment for riding.
