A 17-year-old footballer has been airlifted to hospital after an on-field collision at a Victorian sports oval.
Emergency crews were called to the Avoca Football and Netball Club at 12.20pm on Saturday to treat a boy who fell heavily on his head during a game.
Ambulance Victoria says the boy has been airlifted to Royal Melbourne Hospital where he is in a stable condition as doctors investigate whether he has suffered spinal injuries.
