Vic diver hospitalised after rapid ascent

A diver who got into trouble while surfacing off Victoria's Bellarine Peninsula has been taken to a Melbourne hospital in a serious condition.

The woman, who'd been diving at Barwon Heads, had to be treated by paramedics about 11.20am on Monday following a rapid ascent.

She's been taken to The Alfred hospital in a serious condition, an Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman said.
