Vic dept charged after school boy's death
AAP
Victoria's education department has been charged over an incident that led to the death of a seven-year-old boy in a wheelchair.
The boy suffered a head injury when his wheelchair tipped over the base of a ramp at Warringa Park School in Hoppers Crossing in November 2018 and died four days later.
WorkSafe has filed three charges against the state's Department of Education and Training in the Melbourne Magistrates' Court, accusing it of health and safety breaches.

It alleges the department failed to maintain the ramp, document the supervision and mobility requirements of its students and appropriately train teachers.
The matter is due to appear in court on February 10.
