Vic denies new CFA board will be biased

Victoria's new emergency services minister denies he will appoint a new CFA board made up of "yes people" after its previous members and CEO were sacked over their refusal to support a controversial pay deal.
Emergency Services Minister James Merlino - who replaced Jane Garrett after she resigned from cabinet over the proposed deal - says he is not appointing members based on their willingness to accept the pay agreement.
"That's not how I operate. I need a board that is willing and prepared to end this dispute," he told 3AW radio on Sunday.
