Vic car chase ends with citizen's arrest

A quick-thinking bystander has performed a citizen's arrest on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula by grabbing a man who tried to flee police.

Officers say they first tried to pull over the man at Mt Eliza on Friday for alleged erratic driving, but he sped off and sparked a pursuit.

A short time later the driver crashed into a group of parked cars, and the bystander stepped in until police arrived.
