Vic cancels 1850 trains in a month

More than 1850 train services have been cancelled in the past month as Victoria's regional train crisis continues.

Another 64 V/Line trains have been cancelled and replaced with free coaches on Tuesday, a month after problems with level crossings and worn wheels were first reported.

V/Line is replacing wheels and increasing maintenance, but service disruptions aren't expected to ease until March 13.

Public Transport Victoria said 1306 trains had been unplanned cancellations, while another 551 had been planned cancellations for maintenance work.
