Vic boy attacked by man outside school

A man has punched a 12-year-old boy in the throat outside a Victorian school.

The attack happened just after the boy had been dropped off by his father at the front gate of East Geelong Primary on Monday.

"As he was about to enter the school, a man has walked up to him and punched him to the throat before walking away," police said.

The boy was knocked to the ground, then ran into the school and told his teacher.

He was treated at Geelong Hospital for a bruised throat.
