Vic bushfire no longer threatening homes

Firefighters have stopped the spread of a bushfire which was threatening homes in Victoria's north-east.

The 20-hectare bushfire was travelling fast in a north-east direction towards Eldorado on Monday afternoon and residents were told that leaving was their safest option.

Homes in Percy Street and Woolshed Road were under ember attack and about 20 fire trucks and a water bombing helicopter made good progress in battling the blaze, the CFA said.

The CFA has downgraded its warning from watch and act to advice and says residents are no longer under any threat.
