Victorian autistic boy found in icy conditions

An eight-year-old autistic boy has been found hours after going missing in icy conditions at a popular Victorian ski-resort.

The boy, who doesn't speak, was discovered suffering hypothermia, missing a boot and without his gloves after he went missing in Falls Creek on Tuesday.

He was tobogganing with his family at 3pm before wandering away.

Hundreds rallied to help police find the boy, including SES volunteers, Ski Patrol members, resort management and Falls Creek locals.

They discovered the youngster a few hours later in steep inhospitable terrain near Rocky Valley Creek.

He was treated for slight hypothermia and has been released.
