Vic apartment fire causes $1.5m in damages

A fire in the ground floor shop of a seven-storey apartment building in Melbourne's CBD has caused $1.5 million in damages.
About 50 residents were evacuated but no one was injured in the blaze on the corner of Victoria and Elizabeth Street in the early hours of Monday.
It took firefighters one hour to get the blaze under control.

It's not yet known what caused the fire.
