V/Line subject of corruption investigation

Victorian regional rail operator V/Line says it will "fully co-operate" with an investigation by the state's anti-corruption watchdog.

It's being investigated by the Independent Broad-based Anti-corruption Commission for "alleged serious corrupt conduct", IBAC said on Tuesday.

The hearings, due to start on June 27, will probe conflicts of interest and transparency relating to the recruitment of certain V/Line officers and contractors,

V/Line's systems and processes for the accountability of public money will also be scrutinised.

A spokeswoman for V/Line on Tuesday told AAP it is taking the matters very seriously and will co-operate with the commission.

Also under IBAC's spotlight during the June hearings are education providers South West TAFE and Kangan Institute.

They are being investigated over whether current or former officers misused their position to interfere in awarding qualifications to Rebecca Taylor, director of Taytell Pty Ltd.

Payments to Taytell from South West TAFE and Kangan in connection with its third party training agreements will also be investigated, IBAC says.

The hearings will begin in Melbourne on June 27.

South West TAFE and Kangan have been contacted by AAP for comment.
