Unruly mob removed from Melb-Syd flight

A group of drunk and unruly passengers has been kicked off a Jetstar plane at Melbourne airport, delaying the flight by 80 minutes.

The group boarded the Sydney-bound flight on Monday night and a "handful" of drunk passengers were subsequently asked to leave, prompting the rest of the group of 16 to also disembark, Jetstar said on Tuesday morning.

"We don't tolerate disruptive behaviour by passengers on our flights, so our crew made a decision with the captain that a number of passengers would not travel," a Jetstar spokeswoman said in a statement.

The crew contacted federal police and unloaded the passengers' bags.
