Two police injured during truck intercept

Two police officers received minor injuries after a truck driver they tried to intercept reversed into their vehicle in Melbourne overnight.
Police had intercepted a tray truck carrying a ute on the Hume Highway, Somerton, just after 11.35pm.
As the officers exited their car to speak with the driver, the truck reversed into the police car.

The truck fled and a short time later was involved in a minor crash with a tanker on Sydney Road.
Two officers received minor injuries in the incident.
Police found the abandoned tow truck on Cooper Street Service Road and the investigation is ongoing.
