Two officers taken to hospital after police van rammed in Victoria

A police van has been destroyed and two officers hospitalised after their vehicle was rammed by an SUV in Melbourne's north.

The van was hit, causing significant damage, in the early hours on Thursday while on patrol for a suspect vehicle in Epping.

Two men, aged 25 and 24, were arrested while attempting to flee the scene.

Both police officers involved were taken to hospital as a precaution, while the 25-year-old suspect was taken to a different hospital to be examined.
