Two Apex gang members arrested in Vic

Two men, believed to be affiliated with a gang at the centre of criminal behaviour in Melbourne's CBD over the weekend, have been arrested in relation to a series of alleged car jackings.

Police, including members from the Special Operations Group, arrested an 18-year-old Noble Park man and 18-year-old Dandenong man in Dandenong just after 2pm on Monday.

It is believed the men are affiliated with the Apex gang, alleged to be involved in a recent spate of serious offences including aggravated burglary, car jackings and armed robberies.

One of the men received injuries during the arrest when he was struck by a police vehicle and has been taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The other man is assisting police with their inquiries.
