'Turnbull PM for Sydney': Vic premier

Malcolm Turnbull is a prime minister for Sydney rather than the entire country, Victoria's premier says.

Daniel Andrews says Victoria's growth and innovation is driving the nation, but the state is not getting its fair share of health, education and infrastructure funding.

"It would seem Malcolm Turnbull is a prime minister for Sydney, rather than a prime minister of our whole nation," he told reporters on Sunday, ahead of Mr Turnbull's expected announcement of a double-dissolution election on July 2.
