Truckies flying high on Vic roads

One in 35 truck drivers tested positive to drug-driving during a month-long police operation targeting the industry.

Victoria Police checked almost 3000 heavy vehicles throughout Operation Austrans between May 18 and June 13.

"While the ratio of drivers caught with drugs during the operation was lower than recent trends, one driver taking drugs is one too many," Heavy Vehicle Unit Inspector Bernie Rankin said on Wednesday.
