Tough new bail laws in Vic before Xmas

He made the statement after an off-duty policeman suffered a severed nerve and lost all feeling above his eyebrows after he was stabbed between the eyes during a violent home invasion in Melbourne.
Attorney-General Martin Pakula says the government is "fast tracking" the laws which create new home invasion and carjacking offences that include a presumption against bail.
