Girl, 4, killed in Vic crash

A four-year-old girl is dead after a car she was travelling in crashed into a tree in rural Victoria.
The crash occurred on Remembrance Way in Cardigan, near Ballarat, about 2.30pm on Saturday.
The girl was taken by Ambulance Victoria to the Ballarat Base Hospital, but died on arrival.

She was the only passenger in the car.
The driver - a 24-year-old man of Beaufort - was also taken to the hospital for observation.
Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives will investigate the crash.
The death takes Victoria's road toll to 93, compared to 81 deaths this time last year.
