Third man charged over Vic beach murder

A third man has been charged with murder over the death of a man in Melbourne in November.

The body of Jason Edward Stone was found partially covered with branches by a woman walking her dog on a track near the Ricketts Point foreshore at Beaumaris on November 11.

Homicide squad detectives have charged Timothy Michael Benson, 33, of no fixed address, with murder.

Police say he appeared before a bail justice on Thursday and was remanded to appear in the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Friday.

Steve Eric, 42, and Terry Darren Mitchell, 49, were charged with murder in November.
