Man lurked near Melb station before attack
A man who indecently assaulted a teenage girl outside a Melbourne train station appeared to be lingering there to attack someone.
The teenager was assaulted while she waited with friends at a crossing near Flinders Street station.
"Police find this an incredibly predatory act. It seemed as though he attended that corner to do something," Detective Senior Constable John Baldwin told reporters on Thursday.
The attack happened about 3.30pm on July 21.
CCTV images show a man lingering outside Flinders Street Station after the incident, before walking away when the girls point him out to a station worker.
"It's pretty clear his intentions were to indecently assault somebody," Det Sen Const Baldwin said.
The assault has left the girl feeling distressed, he said.
The description of the man includes that he had a prominent nose.
