Teen has spinal injury after Vic pier dive

A teenage boy has serious spinal injuries after diving from a Melbourne pier and landing hard in shallow water.

The teenage boy dived from the pier at Half Moon Bay on Sunday afternoon, landing hard on the sand in shallow water, an ambulance spokesman says.

He had to be helped from the water and is in the Royal Children's Hospital with in a serious condition.
