Man allegedly uses metal object to smash Melbourne business

A man has been filmed smashing shopfront windows, before jumping onto a car in Melbourne's west, in what witnesses described as an unprovoked attack.

Police alleged the man used a metal object to smash the front window of a business in Hampshire Road in Sunshine just after 4.30pm this afternoon.

The man was also allegedly seen jumping on a parked vehicle causing significant damage to its windscreen on adjacent Devonshire Road.

Witnesses told 9News the damage was significant and unprovoked.

No one was injured in the incident and police have been unable to locate the man involved.

Police are continuing to investigate.
