Students return to Vic school after blaze

An elite Melbourne school that was forced to close amid a massive blaze says it's working to quickly bring back some normality for students.

Ten classrooms and the atrium were destroyed by fire, sparked by an electrical fault, at Wesley College's Glen Waverley campus on Wednesday morning.

Principal Helen Drennen said surveying the destruction had been upsetting - and the school was working hard to restore normality as soon as possible.

No classes were held on Wednesday at the campus, which hosts 1200 students.

Only Years 10 to 12 will return on Thursday with preschool to Year 9 classes returning on Friday.
