State funeral for Michael MacKellar

Former Fraser government minister Michael MacKellar will be remembered in a state funeral on Friday.
Mr MacKellar held the federal lower house seat of Warringah for 25 years before Prime Minister Tony Abbott became the member in 1994.
He held five ministerial posts between 1975 and 1982 including Minister for Immigration and Ethnic Affairs, Minister for Health, and Minister for Home Affairs and Environment.

Mr MacKellar was also Minister Assisting the Treasurer and the Minister Assisting the Prime Minister.
He died of cancer this month aged 76, leaving behind his partner and three children.
The funeral service will be in St John's Anglican church, in Toorak, with the doors open from 1pm.
