A P-Plate driver in Victoria has had his car impounded and faces multiple charges after he spun its wheels in view of police and was then clocked at speeds over 150km/h.

Highway patrol officers saw the 20-year-old Pakenham man spin the wheels of his Holden Commodore as he passed through a roundabout entry to the Princes Freeway, east of Melbourne, about 9.25pm on Friday.

His car was then registered at speeds up to 154km/h in the freeway's 100km/h zone.
