Skull-masked man holds up Melbourne servo

A man dressed in a skull mask and armed with a knife resembling a scalpel has held up a Melbourne petrol station.

The masked robber entered the Patterson Lakes business about 5.20am on Thursday before making demands for cash and cigarettes, police say.

No one was injured during the robbery, which was captured on CCTV and released on Friday.
