Severe storm warning for NW Victoria

A wide area of northwestern Victoria is now subject to a severe thunderstorm warning for damaging winds as a line of storms begins to cross the state ahead of a cool change.

The Bureau of Meteorology says the affected area includes Mildura, Ouyen, Swan Hill, Kerang, Murrayville and Rainbow and covers parts of the Mallee, Wimmera and Northern Country forecast districts.

Wind gusts of 85km/h have been recorded from the system at Renmark in South Australia and the Mallee town of Hopetoun.
