Seven CFMEU officials facing possible bans

Calling a government worker a "f***ing piece of "s***" could see a senior CFMEU figure temporarily barred from entering Australian construction sites.

The Fair Work Commission has been asked to impose right-of-entry bans ranging from three months to two years on seven union figures, including the swearer, John Perkovic.

The bans are sought by government agency Fair Work Building & Construction, and it follows an adverse Federal Court ruling.

The court fined the union a total $205,100 for improperly entering three Adelaide construction sites.

During one of the visits, CFMEU organiser Mr Perkovic used various insults to belittle and intimidate a government worker, the court found.

A hearing date is yet to be set to consider the bans.
