Senator's FOI over Bombers supplements
A document linked to the Essendon supplements saga is being demanded under Freedom of Information Laws by Victorian independent senator John Madigan.
A Senate estimates committee ordered Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority CEO Ben McDevitt to hand over written legal advice he received from the Australian Government Solicitor by Wednesday.
However, just one redacted document was released on Tuesday.
The advice, now sought by Senator Madigan, related to why seven other documents on the Essendon Bombers supplements program should not be released.
Mr Madigan told AAP he was pursuing the legal documents because so much of the supplements saga seemed unfairly secretive and the banned players had their "lives destroyed" because of it.
"I'm not a football fan - I couldn't give a stuff about football - but I do care about a fair go," he said.
