Security guard attacked in Melbourne

A security guard has been punched in the face, kicked and spat on during a brawl with five men at a Melbourne shopping centre.

The security guard confronted a man who was trying to steal from the Chadstone JB Hi-Fi store on Monday, when he was attacked by up to five men, police say.

Other staff at the store then stepped in and the men then ran off, leaving the guard with minor injuries.
