Man charged over Vic man's death

A man has been charged with murdering an elderly man whose body was found in his ransacked home.

The man from NSW is the second person to be charged over the death of 75-year-old Raymond Parker in Melbourne.

Mr Parker was found in his Bayles home on January 13 after a friend went to check on him.

His home had been ransacked and his wallet, credit cards, cash and a number of other items stolen.

Police charged a 49-year-old from Matong with one count of murder on Wednesday.

He is expected to appear before Wagga Wagga Local Court late Wednesday or on Thursday.

A 23-year-old man from Officer, in Melbourne, was charged with one count of murder on Sunday.
