Search for Vic fisherman called off

The search for a fisherman who went missing at a Melbourne reservoir has been called off and police say he may have gone interstate.

Ashley Gleeson was fishing with a friend at the Sugarloaf Reservoir on Sunday when he put on his jacket and walked inland.

His friend was unable to find him, sparking a search.

Police say the search has been scaled back and will most likely not go ahead on Tuesday.

A police spokeswoman says there's a possibility Mr Gleeson went interstate for personal reasons.
