June 2, 2011

* Bung says goodbye to parents and leaves her Boronia home for the 10 minute walk to school.

* Neighbour sees Bung walking along Elsie Street soon after 8.30am. It's the last confirmed sighting of the schoolgirl.

* Bung's parents raised alarm after she fails to come home from school.

November 1, 2011

* Victoria Police announce formation of Taskforce Puma to investigate Bung's disappearance.

July 3, 2012

* Police say they think Bung may have been abducted by someone from the local area.

August 13, 2013

* Detectives search Old Joes Creek Retarding Basin following information from the public - it proves fruitless.

November 5, 2013

* Homicide Squad detectives take charge of the investigation.

December 17, 2013

* Police reveal they have arrested a 24-year-old man twice after he claims he hit Bung with his car and disposed of her body in a local reserve. He was interviewed and released without charge. Police say his story doesn't add up.

* They also reveal that hundreds of sex offenders have been checked and 1000 homes canvassed as part of the investigation into Bung's disappearance.

February 2014

* Detectives announce a $1 million reward for information about Bung's disappearance.
