Search continues for missing Victorian boy

Police will need to resume their search for an 11-year-old boy who hasn't been seen at his Victorian home since Sunday night when daylight is on their side on Tuesday.

Walter Adams was last seen at his home on the Strathewen property, about 45 kilometres northeast of Melbourne, at 10pm on Sunday.

It's believed he may have set out to tend to a calf before failing to return.

Local police and other emergency services officers began searching his family's Beale Avenue property on Monday.

But they hadn't found him by nightfall when the search concluded for the day, with officers set to resume the effort on Tuesday.

Inspector Simon Rainey confirmed Walter has lived in the property all of his life.

"He's a very experienced farm lad," he told Nine News.

"He was going out to check his calf we suspect this morning."
