Robbers hammer way into Melbourne store

Two bandits armed with hammers have robbed a Melbourne convenience store.

Police say the two masked men used hammers to gain entry through the locked front door of an Eltham convenience store in the early hours of Monday.

Once inside, the offenders approached the attendant before one of them jumped the counter and stole cigarettes and cash.
