If you get sold a lemon at the car yard, don't get mad - get even on social media.

That's what one Melbourne man did, by making a hilarious music video about the problem Jeep he bought brand new for $60,000.

"I made a mistake, I bought a Jeep," Teg Sethi says in the song.

"I'm fighting for the whole lemon community."

Mr Sethi says the car, a Jeep Grand Cherokee, has broken down numerous times and he no longer feels safe transporting his family in it.

He claims he was refused a replacement vehicle as the issue wasn't considered a major fault.

So after more than a year battling the car giant, Mr Sethi released a music video to tell the world exactly what he thinks about Chrysler, who distribute Jeep in Australia, and their customer service.

"So it's true and I thought it was just a rumour, Chrysler makes its money out of bullying the consumer," he sings on the video that is set to the tune of a Red Foo song.

The video shows a mechanic juggling lemons, a giant dancing lemon and a Jeep parked on the side of the road with steam billowing from the bonnet.

A spate of complaints against Chrysler Australia prompted an investigation by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission in September and the company was told to improve its after sales care, particularly complaint handling.

The ACCC ruling may not have solved Mr Sethi's issues, but with 60,000 views of the music video in two days, it's likely to capture the company's attention.

The car marker says the vehicle was returned to them on Thursday so an independent third party could inspect it.

"Fiat Chrysler Australia is very disappointed our customer felt so frustrated that he believed his only avenue to be heard was to make a music video," a spokesperson said in a statement.
