Red Symons in Melb hospital after fall

ABC radio breakfast host Red Symons is in a Melbourne hospital recovering from a fall.

Symons posted on Facebook that on July 5 he was walking home from the supermarket when he "experienced a sudden lack of consciousness", fell and his head hit the pavement.

"I am currently in hospital, thankful to be receiving the best of medical attention and working on a speedy recovery," Symons wrote online.

The 68-year-old was a guitarist in the 70's rock band Skyhooks and is also known for his appearances on the TV show Hey Hey It's Saturday.
