Record year for Vic building activity

Victoria has posted two consecutive years of record building activity with $31.5 billion worth of construction in the past financial year.

That 2015/16 figure was a 12 per cent jump on the previous year which was itself a then record $28 billion, a Victorian Building Authority report released on Tuesday says.

Victoria issued 110,069 building permits in 2015/16 up from 105,431 in the previous 12 months.
