Rapid response counsellor plan for Vic

A rapid response team of volunteer counsellors, chaplains and support workers will be deployed to violent events and disasters if the opposition wins the next Victoria election.

Opposition leader Matthew Guy on Wednesday promised to introduce a Victims' Support Rapid Response Service to provide a mobile, 24-hour state wide team to support victims.

Under the plan, on-call volunteer counsellors, multi-faith chaplains, and psychologists will support victims of murder, terrorism, home invasion, emergencies and disasters.
