Racial attack on Melbourne train

Two men being racially abused on a Melbourne train have been told all "Muslims should be shot".

A man wearing a blue flannelette shirt screamed abuse at the men and pointed his finger at them shouting "bang bang", in the attack on a train from Essendon to Newmarket on Tuesday morning.

A witness told AAP the man targeted anyone with darker skin during a "scary attack" that lasted about 10 minutes.

Victoria Police has been contacted for comment.
