Q Society settles halal defamation suit

Anti-Islam group the Q Society has settled defamation proceedings brought against it by a halal certifier.
Mohamed El-Mouelhy, chairman of the Halal Certification Authority, launched action in 2015 against the Q Society and the Australian Liberty Alliance's Kirralie Smith over YouTube videos on halal certification.
On Monday, the parties settled in a mediation session.
