Protesters must behave: Vic police

Police will not tolerate violence during new Melbourne protests over the forced closures of Aboriginal communities.

A large crowd is expected to again gather at the Melbourne Town hall at 4pm on Friday and attendees will make their way to the corner of Flinders and Swanston streets.

Police say they will not tolerate those who break the law, after complaints CBD traffic was shut down on March 13 as protesters rallied over the same issue.

This Friday's protest coincides with an "international day of action" against the forced closures of Aboriginal communities in remote Western Australia.
