Prison escapee arrested after 48hrs on the run

Police have caught and arrested a low-risk Melbourne prisoner who escaped at the weekend.

Adrian Horton, 31, was confirmed missing from Judy Lazarus Transition Centre, in the city's west, about 11.30pm on Saturday. 

Horton was apprehended in Collingwood this afternoon without incident, police said in a statement.

He is currently being interviewed, with charges yet to be laid.
