Police search for hair cutting offender

A man is said to have grabbed a woman from behind and cut her hair with scissors in Melbourne's CBD.

Police say a woman was walking on Lonsdale Street early one morning last month when a man yanked her hair and began to cut it off.

The attacker said he would not hurt the woman.

He ran after her until she screamed and two people came to her aid.

The offender is described as Caucasian and has hazel eyes, shoulder-length brown hair and a "bushy" beard.
