Police investigate Vic boat incident

A 13-year-old Melbourne boy suffered severe cuts to his arms and legs after he fell from a boat and was struck by its propeller.

Police will investigate the circumstances around the incident in Port Phillip Bay on Wednesday afternoon.

"It's believed the 13-year-old was sitting on the front of the boat when he fell off and was struck by the propeller," according to a Victoria Police statement.

He suffered serious cuts to his arms and legs and was taken to the Royal Children's Hospital.
