Police probe Melbourne man's death

A dead man found in Melbourne's west has been identified as a 20-year-old from Brunswick, with police treating his death as suspicious.

Investigators on Friday said "the exact circumstances are yet to be determined".

The body was found on Sunbury Road at Bulla shortly before midday on Thursday, with homicide detectives called to the scene.

A rifle was found a short distance away and witnesses reported three men arguing with police out the front of the property after the body's discovery, Fairfax Media reported.

But police would not say if a weapon had been found nearby.
